Job Summary:
Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for field operations and delivering top-notch customer service? The Junkluggers of Orange County is looking for a dedicated Field Supervisor to oversee and inspire our field teams, ensuring seamless operations and high standards of customer satisfaction. As a Field Supervisor, you’ll work directly with crews on job sites, oversee job progress, and uphold our commitment to eco-friendly practices to help us save the world "One Lug at a Time".

In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for scheduling and assigning crews, conducting job site visits, and stepping in when high-priority tasks demand extra support. You’ll act as a mentor and leader, conducting regular check-ins with your team, handling customer interactions, and ensuring strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). With an eye on safety, you’ll monitor truck inspections and vehicle maintenance, coordinating with the Operations Manager to maintain an efficient, safe, and well-organized work environment. By managing key touchpoints like loading/unloading processes, customer follow-ups, and daily scheduling, you’ll play a crucial part in maintaining our service standards and fostering a strong culture of professionalism and teamwork.

  1. Field Team Management
    1. Ensure that crews and teams are on time for all scheduled jobs, and that they are prepared with the necessary equipment and information.
    2. Conduct regular hourly (or as needed) check-ins with teams during jobs to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure that all work is being carried out to The Junkluggers’ standards.
    3. Occasionally step in to perform jobs alongside the team, particularly on high-priority, large, or complex tasks.
    4. Complete 1 on 1 meetings, semi-annual and annual reviews, and PIPs as necessary.
  2. Operational Oversight
    1. Float between multiple job sites to monitor progress, provide support, and ensure that teams are following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout the day.
    2. Address any operational issues that arise during the day, coordinating with the Operations Manager as necessary to find solutions.
    3. Ensure Loading and Unloading SOP is followed and inspect items prior to disposing or donating; minimizing items taken to landfills and maximizing donatable items.
    4. Confirm trucks going to the landfill are full (no partial loads).
    5. Complete estimates utilizing the Estimate SOP and work to convert to a scheduled job.
  3. Truck Inspections and Safety
    1. Ensure that all field teams conduct thorough truck inspections before and after jobs (Whip Around), adhering to safety protocols and company standards.
    2. Monitor compliance with vehicle maintenance and safety procedures, reporting any issues to the Operations Manager for resolution.
    3. Promote a culture of safety within the field teams, ensuring that all work is performed in a safe and responsible manner.
    4. Checking in on Whip Around to ensure all trucks passed inspection and if not, resolve it.
    5. Ensure trucks receive regular maintenance (PM Service)  and necessary repairs are completed by authorized repair facilities.
  4. Customer Service
    1. Lead by example in customer interactions, demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
    2. Follow-up on customer concerns and large jobs, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
    3. Assist in calling UCBs (Urgent Call Back) appointments.
    4. Utilize proper email etiquette when contacting customers.
  5. Scheduling and Coordination
    1. Assigning crews to daily jobs.
    2. Communicate schedule changes or updates to teams promptly and clearly.
    3. Check to ensure job payment, confirm reason(s) listed for cancellations and follow-up with customers for potential reschedule.
    4. Conduct time audits to ensure teams are accurately recording clock in/clock out times and meal breaks.
